Racing Club de Lens is a French football club located in the northern city of Lens in France and was founded in 1906. RC Lens plays in the Première division known as Ligue 1 which is the top league in football of France. Also referred to as “Les Sang et Or”, meaning blood and gold reflecting the color of their shirts, RC Lens play their home games at the Félix Bollaert stadium in Lens which seats up to 41,233 spectators. Racing Club de Lens had some memorable success in Ligue 1 reaching first place in 1998, becoming runners-up (4th) on four occasions (1956, 1957, 1977, 2002) and again first place in 1944 (Northern Area).
