Kilmarnock is a picturesque city of Ayrshire, Scotland. It is a place known for Robert Burns - the famous Scottish poet, as the birthplace of renowned whiskey brand Johnnie Walker and football. Kilmarnock FC or Kille, as the club is lovingly known among its supporters, belong to the same city. The club is not only among the oldest of Scotland's football clubs but also the most successful ones. They are also the primary reason behind the boost of sales of Kilmarnock football tickets. They won the Scottish league title as recently as in 2011 - '12 beating the other celebrated team of the country, Celtic FC. Rugby Park, built in 1899, is the home of the Killies. In earlier times the ground is shared among the local football, cricket and rugby teams. This earned the stadium its name. Football matches in Kilmarnock, including Scottish Premier League and Ayrshire Cup games, are held in this stadium.
