Liverpool bounces back with win against Fulham

In the pursuit of the Premier League title, Liverpool didn't falter on Sunday. Visiting Fulham, Jürgen Klopp's side clinched a 3-1 victory, painting the match orange with a splendid goal from Ryan Gravenberch and an assist by Cody Gakpo. Trent Alexander-Arnold's opener added to the brilliance. Liverpool boasted a Dutch contingent in every line, with Virgil van Dijk, Gravenberch, and Gakpo. Mohammed Salah started on the bench, while Diogo Jota and Luís Díaz completed the forward line. Fulham featured former Ajax player Calvin Bassey in their lineup.

Alexander-Arnold's Magic

Liverpool asserted dominance from the start, threatening Fulham with numerous corners, although they didn't immediately convert into clear chances. Fulham, initially focused on defense, put up a resilient fight. Buoyed by the opener, the Reds pursued a second goal. Gakpo attempted, but in vain. However, Fulham rallied and equalized before halftime. Finding himself with space about 25 meters from goal, Gravenberch didn't hesitate, unleashing a stunning shot into the bottom corner, making it 2-1.

Jota Seals the Deal

Under the watchful eyes of José Mourinho, Jota sealed the game twenty minutes from time. The Portuguese latched onto Gakpo's pass and calmly slotted home, making it 3-1. Although Fulham pressed, they couldn't breach Alisson again. With 74 points each after 33 games, Arsenal and Liverpool are neck and neck. Manchester City, with 73 points and a game in hand, remains in pole position for the title.
