River Ruhr, River Emscher, woodland, ancient buildings, modern structures and football mark the city's vista for Dortmund. Borussia Dortmund (BVB) is not only the third largest club of Germany with a strong membership base of 100,000 people but also one of the most successful teams of Bundesliga. Founded in 1909, BVB has won eight German league titles, three DFB-Pokals and one Champions League trophy so far. By winning UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1966 they became the first club of the country to win a European title. BVB's homeground, Westfalenstadion is also the venue where maximum number of football matches in Dortmund takes place. Built in 1974, officially the stadium is known as Signal Iduna Park. The capacity of the stadium is greater than 65,000 and it hosts international matches on a regular basis.
