James Hargreaves Stand (North Stand)

• Capacity: Approximately 8,000
• Structure: Two-tiered stand (lower and upper)
• View Quality: Excellent overall pitch view, particularly from upper tier rows 10–25
• Atmosphere: Home to some of Burnley's most vocal supporters, especially in the lower tier (sections 1–9). The upper tier offers slightly less intensity but better sightlines.
• Who Sits Here: Mix of season ticket holders, families (upper tier), and passionate fans (lower tier)
• Facilities: Food and drink kiosks on both concourses, toilets adequate but expect queues at half-time
• Access: Multiple entrances along Harry Potts Way. Note that spiral staircases to upper tier can bottleneck.
• Special Features: Houses the press box, gantry, and hospitality spaces

Bob Lord Stand (South Stand)

• Capacity: Approximately 6,500
• Structure: Single-tiered stand, the oldest currently in use at Turf Moor
• View Quality: Good central view from raised seating, though slightly lower than the two-tiered stands
• Atmosphere: Traditional, old-school feel. Long-time season ticket holders and loyal supporters prefer this stand.
• Who Sits Here: Season ticket holders who value tradition over modern amenities
• Facilities: Basic concourse with food and drink kiosks, toilets can queue at half-time
• Access: Entrances from Brunshaw Road side. Ticket office located in this stand on Harry Potts Way.
• Special Features: Houses club offices, dugouts, and changing rooms. Unique until recently as one of the few stadiums with player facilities behind a goal.

Jimmy McIlroy Stand (East Stand)

• Capacity: Approximately 6,000
• Structure: Two-tiered stand named after Burnley legend Jimmy McIlroy
• View Quality: Excellent views from both tiers, particularly upper tier centre sections
• Atmosphere: Upper tier features the designated family area. Lower tier has enthusiastic home support.
• Who Sits Here: Families (upper tier), general home supporters (lower tier)
• Facilities: Houses the Clarets Store (club shop) and ticket office. Improved concourse facilities with recent upgrades. Changing Places accessible facility on ground floor.
• Access: Main entrances via Harry Potts Way
• Special Features: Home to the club shop, making it a hub for pre and post-match activity

Cricket Field Stand / David Fishwick Stand (West Stand)

• Capacity: Approximately 4,000
• Structure: Single-tiered stand, also known as Barnfield Construction Stand. Named for its proximity to Burnley Cricket Club.
• View Quality: Good behind-the-goal perspective. Note that there are pillars in this stand that can obstruct views from certain seats.
• Atmosphere: Shared between home and away supporters, with away fans typically in sections 1–4, 9–12, and 17–20 (approximately 2,200 capacity for away fans). This creates an energetic, intense environment.
• Who Sits Here: Away fans in designated blocks, home supporters in remaining sections
• Facilities: Recent renovation improved concourse areas, toilets, and turnstiles. Food and drink kiosks available.
• Access: Away fans enter via turnstiles 48–55 (entrance P) on Belvedere Road. Accessible entrance B1 adjacent to general turnstiles.
• Special Features: Safe standing section introduced at the end of 2023–24 season in part of this stand

Best Seats for Different Viewing Experiences

Best for Overall Pitch View

• James Hargreaves Stand, Upper Tier, Central Sections (rows 10–25): These seats offer the clearest tactical view of the entire pitch. You're high enough for perspective but not so high that you feel distant from the action. The elevated position and central location make it easy to follow play from end to end.
• Jimmy McIlroy Stand, Upper Tier, Centre: Similarly excellent views from the opposite side of the pitch.

Trade-off: Sideline views (James Hargreaves and Jimmy McIlroy) give better overall perspective than behind-goal views (Bob Lord and Cricket Field), though you miss the close-up intensity of goals scored at your end.

Best for Atmosphere

• James Hargreaves Stand, Lower Tier (sections 1–9): This is where Burnley's most passionate supporters congregate. Expect loud chanting, intense support, and an electric atmosphere. If you want to be surrounded by singing fans, this is your section.
• Safe Standing Section (Cricket Field Stand): Recently introduced safe standing adds to the matchday experience for those who prefer standing and singing throughout the match.

Note: While these sections create incredible atmosphere, views can be slightly obstructed by flags and banners, and you'll be surrounded by standing, cheering fans. Not ideal if you prefer a quieter, seated experience.

Best for Seeing Goals Up Close

• Bob Lord Stand, Central Sections: Behind-the-goal perspective puts you directly in line with shots and saves. When Burnley attacks this end, you'll have the best view of goals, though you'll be far from the action when play is at the opposite end.
• Cricket Field Stand (Home Sections): Same benefit from the opposite end.

Trade-off: Behind-goal seats are thrilling when the action is near you but offer limited perspective when play is at the far end. You're either in the heart of the action or watching from a distance, there's no middle ground.

Best for Families

• Jimmy McIlroy Stand, Upper Tier (Designated Family Area): This section is specifically designed for families with children. The atmosphere is enthusiastic but family-appropriate, alcohol isn't sold in this section, and stewards are trained to help families. Proximity to toilets is convenient for young children.

Sightline Advice: Children under 1.2m (4ft) may struggle to see from the front rows, aim for rows 10–20 for better elevated views.

General Advice: Avoid the James Hargreaves Stand lower tier and safe standing sections with very young children, these areas are louder, more intense, and fans often stand throughout the match.

Best for Photography

• Upper Tier Corners: Great angled views for capturing goals and wider stadium shots.
• Bob Lord Stand: Dramatic behind-goal action and celebration photos.
• Outside the Stadium: Harry Potts Way main entrance and facade.

Equipment Note: Turf Moor allows cameras, but professional equipment (large lenses, tripods) may be restricted. Check with stewards if you're bringing anything beyond a standard camera or smartphone.

Best Seating for Kids at Turf Moor

Designated Family Section: The Jimmy McIlroy Stand upper tier is Turf Moor's official family area. This section provides a welcoming environment for children, with enthusiastic but family-appropriate atmosphere. Alcohol isn't sold in this section, and stewards are specifically trained to assist families. Toilets are nearby, essential when you have young children who need frequent bathroom breaks.

Age Recommendations

Children of all ages are welcome at Turf Moor. Very young children (under 5) are best suited to the family section where the environment is more controlled. Children aged 6–12 will enjoy the family section or the calmer areas of the Bob Lord Stand. Teenagers can sit anywhere but may enjoy the more intense atmosphere of the James Hargreaves Stand lower tier.

Sightline Considerations

Children under 1.2m (approximately 4 feet tall) may struggle to see clearly from front rows. Rows 10–20 in any stand offer better elevated views for smaller supporters. Some parents bring cushions or booster seats, check with your stand's stewards about regulations.

Sections to Avoid with Young Children

• James Hargreaves Stand lower tier: very loud, passionate, fans stand frequently
• Safe standing sections: standing only, more intense atmosphere
• Away section: vocal away support can be intimidating for young children in home colors

Best Seating for Accessibility at Turf Moor

Turf Moor offers 153 wheelchair-accessible spaces distributed across all four stands, with adjacent seating for personal assistants and options for friends and family nearby. The stadium has 15 accessible entrances, the highest number of all Premier League stadiums, making it one of the more accessible venues in English football.

Wheelchair-Accessible Seating

• All four stands have wheelchair spaces on raised platform areas that provide excellent pitch views and weather protection
• Two new three-level wheelchair sections offer full pitch view with shelter from rain
• 2019 corner stands between the Jimmy McIlroy Stand and both the James Hargreaves and Bob Lord Stands added specifically for disabled home supporters to meet Accessible Stadium Guide regulations

Accessible tickets must be booked through Burnley FC. Contact the club by phone at 01282 446800 or email slo@burnleyfc.com. Book well in advance as spaces are limited despite the 153 total capacity.

Companion/Carer Seating

Personal assistants receive complimentary seats adjacent to wheelchair spaces. Friends and family can be seated nearby as well.

Accessible Toilets

Located at every entry level across all stands. A fully equipped Changing Places facility is in the Jimmy McIlroy Stand on the ground floor, easily accessible for the whole stand.

Accessible Entrances

The 15 accessible entrances are clearly marked. For away supporters, accessible entrance B1 is adjacent to the general away turnstiles.
