Barcelona have announced plans for a friendly against Chapecoense as a mark of respect for those who died when the team's plane crashed in November. The Brazilian club were on their way to play in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana final against Atletico Nacional when the jet carrying players, club officials and journalists came down. Three members of the team - defender Alan Luciano Ruschel, reserve goalkeeper Jackson Ragnar Follmann and centre-back Helio Hermito Zampier Neto - were among only six survivors of the crash, in which 71 people died. Barca contacted Chapecoense late last year to make plans to stage a friendly, and the Spanish club have now confirmed the match will take place on August 7 at the Nou Camp. Barcelona Transfer News

New Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has a huge summer ahead as he aims to turn the Catalan giants into La Liga and Champions League winners once again. But with Manchester United chasing Neymar and Lionel Messi concerned by Javier Mascherano, things have got off to a rocky start. Lionel Messi reportedly is demanding Barcelona retain the services of his compatriot Javier Mascherano. Argentina international Mascherano is likely to leave Barca after showing signs of waning under manager Luis Enrique last season. Messi is fearful of his close friend leaving the Nou Camp. Messi is worried Barca is making a mistake letting him go as there are no guarantees they will sign an equal or better replacement. Twenty-nine-year-old Messi is concerned that Barcelona could give Thomas Vermaelen another chance to prove himself. Meanwhile Manchester United are pursuing Neymar. Man United are chasing Neymar because Red Devils’ boss Jose Mourinho wants the Brazil international after failing to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo. Neymar will cost £177m.

Barcelona are reportedly planning to keep Andres Iniesta at the club even though Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola reportedly has held talks with the Spain international about a potential move to the Etihad this summer. Barca are looking to keep hold of the 33-year-old playmaker for at least another season. Barcelona legend Xavi said Dani Alves will shine in the Premier League claiming Barca missed hiring the Brazilian. Alves will leave Juventus during the summer transfer window to join Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. Man United will reportedly demand at least £60million from Barcelona if they want Ander Herrera. New reports in Spain have linked the Catalan giants with a £35m deal; as an option to Marco Verratti. It would take a bid of at least £60m for Jose Mourinho to contemplate a deal. To date Barcelona have not made an official approach, but Barcelona would not be willing to match that figure. “Age is not everything. For me, he's still the best right-back in the world,” Xavi said. “Barcelona missed him this season - and he's just had an incredible season with Juventus. He's a big character and he's very important in the locker room. He has a great relationship with Pep - there's a lot of mutual respect - they had a lot of success together at Barcelona."

Alves confirmed his Juventus departure on Instagram and is expected to join Pep Guardiola, who he played under in Barcelona, at Manchester City. Alves Juve teammate Tacchinardi does not like the way Alves has handled the situation, and thinks he’s been disrespectful to the Serie A champions’ supporters. "The player's attitude in the last period seems to have been disrespectful towards the fans who enjoyed him and waited for him after his difficult first month,” said Tacchinardi. "If he wanted to go to City or elsewhere, he could have been straight about it. For players like him, if they are not committed, better to let them go."

Liverpool target Naby Keita has named Barcelona among the clubs he would consider playing for: “I hope, however, that I have the level in two, three years and could play for one of the very big clubs,” said Keita. “This includes Barcelona, but it also includes Real Madrid or Manchester City.” Lionel Messi still thinks the club needs to replace Dani Alves, who left for Juventus a year ago despite still being at the top of his game. And he is fearful that Barcelona may fail to land a successor.

Real Madrid Transfer News

Manchester United’s Spanish star goalkeeper David De Gea has reportedly told his agent Jorge Mendes to contact Real Madrid over a transfer this summer. The Spain international has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu since 2015, when De Gea's move to Real fell through on deadline day because of paperwork problems. Reportedly De Gea told Mendes he is keen to leave Man United and make the move to Real.  “Jorge Mendes has asked Jose Angel Sanchez for De Gea and Sanchez has asked him to be patient because the decision has not yet been made, said De Gea’s agent. “This year there is a lot of happiness because it has won the double, which had not been won for a long time, but next year we have to win again and if there is not a win there will be a problem.”

Atletico Madrid Transfer News

Antoine Griezmann is linked to a move to Manchester United, while Atletico Madrid star Saul Niguez denied rumors he could join Man United or Barcelona. Although talk that Niquez may make a move to Old Trafford has surfaced, Niguez has no intentions of moving to the Premier League giant club.  "I have no intention of moving," Niguez said. "I'm where I want to be and things are going to remain the same. They (Atletico) have put their trust in me since I was young, and I want to repay that confidence."
