Arsenal transfer news

Reportedly Arsenal’s veteran French manager Arsene Wenger is determined to sign Kylian Mbappe in a world-record transfer deal this summer. France international Mbappe is currently one of the most sought-after football players in the world after a stunning breakthrough season for Monaco last campaign. Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, and Real Madrid are among the contenders for the 18-year-old. Reports say that PSG made a world-record £123million bid for the French teenager. Arsenal plans to exceed Europe’s top clubs in a bid to hire Mbappe. Gunners boss Wenger reportedly will reportedly offer a rival bid to Monaco for the talented teen that will exceed the amount PSG offered.

With concerns that Arsenal superstar Alexis Sanchez may leave the Gunners for Manchester City, the Gunners need signings up front this summer for another top striker. Rumor has it that Sanchez desires to leave for rivals City. Due to the fact that Olivier Giroud’s future at the Emirates Stadium is uncertain, Arsenal is also linked with Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette as an option to strengthen the Gunners offense. Mbappe would be a feather in Wenger’s cap and no doubt a very exciting purchase for fans. Wenger hinted that he believes he could win the race for his signature since the Gunners boss is prepared to offer him regular first-team football. Meanwhile, German international Shkodran Mustafi urged Wenger to keep "extraordinary" Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal.

After the end of the 2016-17 season, Sanchez's future at the Emirates is still uncertain, with both Manchester City and Bayern Munich linked with a move for the Chilean, whose contract expires next summer. Arsenal team-mates Mustafi and Sanchez recently went head to head when Germany faced Chile on Thursday in the Confederations Cup. Mustafi stated he wants world-class Sanchez to remain with Arsenal next season. "I hope he stays, it would be a pity to lose him," said Mustafi. "He is an extraordinary player, for me one of the best in the world. Sanchez scored 24 Premier League goals for Arsenal in 2016-17 but that was not enough to secure a top-four finish. The Gunners missed out on the Champions League after finishing fifth, and Mustafi added that he thinks Sanchez could "play in every team. He could play anywhere, even at Bayern," added Mustafi.

Robert Pires also believes Arsenal need to keep Sanchez and hire key footballers in the summer transfer market to challenge for the England Premier League title as well as a spot in the Champions League. "I have experienced few players who are as hungry as him,” said Pires. “As soon as he is on the ball, everyone knows something can happen. Once he has made his way to the front of the goal, you will not be able to take the ball." Meanwhile, Arsenal superstar striker Alexis Sanchez made football history in international action on Thursday in Chili’s Confederations Cup. Alexis played the full 90 minutes of his side's 1-1 draw with Germany. Sanchez set a new goal-scoring record by becoming Chile’s all-time top scorer. The Gunners forward has now scored 38 goals for his country. Chile took the lead in the sixth minute when Alexis scored from a pass by Arturo Vidal, sending home the game’s opening goal. Germany’s Lars Stindl tapped in an equalizer for his side from close range and the game ended all-square on Thursday night as the group stages of the Confederations Cup continued in Russia. Arsenal’s Shkodran Mustafi played the entire match for his native Germany.

Arsenal stated that the Chilean star is not for sale, but their rivals plan to hire Sanchez anyway with an official bid after his success in the recent Confederations Cup. Manchester City believes that they can sign striker Alexis Sanchez in a deal potentially worth up to £50million. Sanchez has only one year left on his contract. Interest in Sanchez has increased after his Confederations Cup duty in Russia with Chile, Sanchez’s current giant club Arsenal have offered Sanchez a new deal and insisted they have no intention of letting him leave this summer after he scored 30 goals for his team last season. However Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has made Sanchez his top transfer target at Etihad and reportedly his former boss is convinced they can seal a tempting deal for the in-demand star, who is also wanted by EPL champions Chelsea and German titans Bayern Munich.  The Manchester club waits until the Confederations Cup is over before making an official bid for Sanchez who has 72 goals and 37 assists in 145 games for Arsenal. Reportedly the Gunners are desperate for Sanchez to stay with them and have offered their star player a new deal worth an amazing £275,000-a-week to continue his term with the London club. However, Arsenal are unable to provide Champions League football next season after missing out on the top-four for the first time in two decades.

City manager Pep Guardiola signed Sanchez from Italian club Udinese in his final season in charge of Spanish titan club Barcelona, and the Chilean superstar is said to be eager to be reunited with his former boss. City reportedly can offer Sanchez a weekly wage of around £300,000-a-week topping Arsenal’s bid. Arsene Wenger is eager to bring Mbappe to the Emirates, but he may miss out on other key targets if the Gunners continue to pursue the France international. Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette is a leading alternative to Mbappe, and a move for the star striker may be much more realistic due to the costs attached to hiring Mbappe. Lacazette scored 37 goals in 45 games for French club Lyon last season including 28 in Ligue 1 and looked destined to leave for Atletico Madrid before a transfer ban was imposed on the giant Spanish La Liga club. The Gunners launched an unsuccessful bid to sign Lacazette in last summer’s transfer window but may find the player less willing to make the move after Arsenal failed to qualify for the 2017-18 Champions League tournament.
