In the lead up to the upcoming match between Arsenal and Manchester City, the subject of the future of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and two of the Gunners' most popular stars Alexis Sanchez and Mezuit Ozil come up. In reply, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says discussions with Alexis Sanchez and Mezuit Ozil will be held in the summer. Sánchez's and Özil's contracts with Arsenal run out at the end of next season. As for Wenger's future with Arsenal, he has not decided yet.

Italian Chelsea manager Antonio Conte wants to hire the Chilean forward Alexis Sánchez, 28, who is available to leave Arsenal and also wanted by PSG, Inter and Juventus. The Blues reportedly have made Arsenal striker Alexis Sanchez their main summer transfer target. Arsenal will ask around £50m for Sanchez if he does not agree a new contract with the Gunners. Wenger's Arsenal are not likely to let Chile international Sanchez join another Premier League side, and have Paris St-Germain, Juventus, and Inter Milan as possible preferable destinations. Conte is in talks with Chelsea over his new contract. Conte has submitted to the club's recruitment team, headed by Marina Granovskaia and technical director, Michael Emenalo, a list of players he would like to sign, with 28 year old Sánchez and a left-sided defender among the priorities. According to reports, Sánchez likely will leave Arsenal after three years at the club. Reportedly the striker would welcome a new challenge. His contract has 15 months to run and Chelsea are aware a transfer to leaders Chelsea will be difficult to conclude because Arsenal would prefer not to sell him to a domestic rival if they cannot persuade Sanchez to stay on. Sánchez is asking for a wage increase from £130,000 a week to £250,000 and has made clear to Arsenal this is non-negotiable. PSG one of Europe's richest clubs, are also keen to sign him and could afford to meet his demands for a wage increase. Juventus and Inter Milan are the only clubs in Italy Serie A who could afford Sánchez's wages. To date, there has been no bid from the Premier League leaders. Arsenal plan to make a decision on Sánchez's future at the end of this season when they will know whether they are in the Champions League in 2017-18 or have qualified for the playoffs. Although Sanchez seems determined to leave, Gunner's boss Arsène Wenger said that contract talks with Sánchez were on hold until the end of the season. Earlier in March, Sanchez stormed out of an Arsenal training session and was involved in a dressing-room yelling match with some of his team-mates due to his frustration that the other players on the side are not pulling their weight.

In terms of Conte's choice for a left-sided defender, Conte has told Roman Abramovich, Chelsea's billionaire owner, he wants to sign David Alaba of Bayern Munich or Juventus's Alex Sandro. Southampton central defender Virgil van Dijk is also a target, as is Monaco midfielder Tiemoué Bakayoko, though Chelsea face competition for the youth from Man United, Man City and PSG. Chelsea's top goal-scorer Brazilian Diego Costa is expected to leave this summer, and Chelsea may look to sign Everton's Romelu Lukaku or Real Madrid's Álvaro Morata to take his place. Spanish La Liga titan club Real Madrid has made Eden Hazard a top target but Chelsea will resist any offers for the content, popular Belgian. Conte is close to signing a new manager's contract but wants assurances that Chelsea are willing to spend big in the coming transfer windows to have a squad capable of challenging in the Champions League next season. Conte joined Chelsea last summer on a deal until 2019 worth around £6.5m a year. With their amazing success this campaign, Chelsea are keen to extend Conte's contract and increase his salary. However any agreement reached may be confirmed only after Chelsea wins the EPL title. Inter wants to bring Conte back to Italy but the 47-year-old has said his wife, Elisabeth, and young daughter, Vitoria, move to London in the summer.

In January, Oscar, Bratislava Ivanovo, and Mikel John Obi left for Shanghai SIPG, Zenith St Petersburg and Tianjin TEDA respectively. John Terry looks certain to leave Chelsea in the summer. La Lia's Real Madrid is willing to spend £100m on 26-year-old Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard, according to the Spanish club's former president Ramon Calderon. However, Chelsea will offer Hazard a new contract worth £300,000 per week. The Blues will offer striker Diego Costa, 28, to Paris St-Germaine as part of a swap deal for 27-year-old midfielder Javier Pasture. Barco are set to beat Chelsea to the signing of PSG midfielder Marco Verity, 24.
