Opening Euro 2012 Qualifiers: match results

Sunday 5, 2010: Following is the summary of all the group matches of Euro 2012 Qualifiers from Friday. The next round of matches will be played on Tuesday 7th and the tickets for Euro 2012 could be bought from here.

Group A to C

Group A saw Kazakhstan thoroughly outplayed by Turkey who beat the Kazak team by 3 goals. In comparison, Germany's efforts were somewhat thwarted by Belgium and the former could only manage a win by one goal. In Group B, Republic of Ireland and Slovakia were the winners beating Armenia and FYR Macedonia respectively by one goal each. Russia registered a win over Andorra by two goals. Group C saw Serbia play a dominant game against Faroe Island beating them by three hits to the net. Italy almost faltered but regained their confidence in time to register a win against Estonia by 2-1. Northern Ireland beat Slovenia by one goal.

Group D to F

In Group D, the big loser was France, beaten by Belarus 0-1. Albania drew the game with Romania 1-1. Bosnia and Herzegovina registered a commanding win over Luxembourg by three goals. Moldova and Sweden won their games against Finland and Hungary by two goals respectively. The Netherlands expectedly won their game against San Marino by five goals.

Group G to I

Montenegro brought down Wales by 1-0 but England won comfortably against Bulgaria by 4-0 in Group G. Surprisingly in Group H, Portugal only managed a draw against Cyprus by 4-4. Norway won 2-1 against Iceland. Group I saw, Lithuania and Scotland record a goalless draw. Spain outsmarted Liechtenstein by 4-0.
