Group A Champions League Results

Malmo 0-5 PSG

Paris Saint Germain’s Angel Di Maria scored twice as PSG devastated Malmo 5-0 on and earned their place in the knockout stage of the Champions League. Adrien Rabiot opened the scoring early for PSG with a pass from Ibra as he headed in an early goal. Di Maria made it 2-0 off the post at 15 minutes in the Group A fixture.

Superstar striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored at the start of the second half against his former Sweden club surprising Malmo goalie Johan Wiland from the side – 3-0. Di Maria headed in his second goal, and the score was 4-0. Lucas then made it 5-0 from a free kick. Paris Saint Germain wore shirts with the slogan ''Je suis Paris'' to show solidarity with Paris after the Nov. 13 attacks.

Shakhtar Donetsk 3-4 Real Madrid

In another Group A match, Real Madrid defeated Mircea Lucescu’s side Shakhtar Donetsk 3-4 in the Ukraine as Rafael Benitiz’s side redeemed themselves by claiming the top spot with one round to spare after an frustrating and embarrassing loss to FC Barcelona in the recent El Clasico.

Madrid boss Benitez made 7 changes to his side moving Ronaldo into a center forward role in a restored 4-3-3 formation. Real dominated the match from the start when superstar striker Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring at 20 minutes, and secured his 450th goal, however Los Blancos nearly threw away a four-goal lead in the last 15 minutes.

Ronaldo supplied Luka Modric and Dani Carvajal for the second and third goals just after halftime to make it 3-0 against Shakhtar. Ronaldo supplied by Gareth Bale and the game was over at 4-0 - almost. In the last quarter, Shakhtar somehow made a powerful comeback to nearly defeat Madrid.

Alex Teixeira converted from the penalty spot after 77 minutes. Dentinho then scored with a header at the far post making the score 4-2. Teixeira scored his second in the final minutes at Arena Lviv and the score was 4-3. The Spanish giants let the clock run out to win 3-4 as Real Madrid held out to avoid a catastrophic loss. Shakhtar require a win against PSG to earn a Europa League spot in 2016.
