Bayern Munich 3-1 Manchester United (Agg 4-2)

Title holders Bayern Munich came from behind to beat 3-1 Manchester United in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals and progress into the last four with a 4-2 aggregate win.

After a first half with little chances, Patrice Evra scored the first goal of the match in the 57th minute with a powerful strike from 25 yards out.

But Mario Mandzukic cancelled the Red Devils lead just 60 seconds later. Franck Ribery crossed the ball from the left wing and Mandzukic headed the ball into the net.

The Bavarians made it 2-1 in the 68th minute through Thomas Muller who netted from close range following a low cross by Robben.

The Dutch forward then sealed the victory with 15 minutes remaining as he dashed with the ball into the area and was lucky to see his shot deflected on Vidic and past De Gea into the bottom corner.

Pep Guardiola’s men had a late chance to extend their lead through substitute Claudio Pizarro but De Gea denied his toe-poked effort.

Atletico Madrid 1-0 FC Barcelona (Agg 2-1)

Atletico Madrid beat 1-0 La Liga title rivals Barcelona last night to advance into the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in 40 years.

Diego Simeone’s men were the stronger side from the start and made Barcelona pay their defensive mistakes early as Koke volleyed the ball into the net after just 5 minutes.

It could have been worst for Barca as Atletico hit the woodwork three times in the opening 20 minutes.

The Catalans then slowly started controlling possession as they are used to but despite a couple of weak chances neither Neymar nor Messi were able to break Atletico’s solid defense.

Atletico join neighbours Real Madrid, Chelsea and Bayern Munich in Friday's semi-final draw.
