FA Cup: Manchester City 5-0 Blackburn Rovers

Manchester City scored five goals without reply in a convincing win over Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup third-round replay on Wednesday. Alvaro Negredo delighted the home fans as the clock went into first-half injury time. Hit on the counter-attack, several Rovers players were caught upfield when Fernandinho crossed the ball in for Negredo to head home. When City came out after the break, they continued as they meant to go on and Negredo, City's top scorer, got his second in the 47th minute. Rovers then brought on Joshua King, and his introduction sparked a flurry of near chances, heading over the bar and then seeing Pantilimon collect a powerful shot.

Edin Dzeko scored City's third in the 67th minute, belting home a cross delivered by Jesus Navas. Five minutes later, Sergio Aguero came on for Negredo and within moments the Argentinian striker had given Manchester City a four goal lead. Dzeko concluded the rout eleven minutes from time, thundering in another low cross from Navas, beating Simon Eastwood at his near post to send the visitors out of the cup.
