Track TicketsCarlo Ancelotti has announced that world-record signing Gareth Bale is ready to make is long-awaited debut for Real Madrid on Saturday. The Welsh wizard has been the subject of a transfer tug of war between Tottenham Hotspur and Los Blancos for most of the summer, but it now seems that he will finally kick his first ball for the Spanish giants in what is expected to be a substitute appearance. The 24-year-old Wales international joined Real on September 1st for just over £85 million. However, a niggling foot injury has kept him out thus far.Not only will Bale need to adapt to a different style of football in La Liga, he will also need to adjust to playing alongside global superstars such as Cristiano Ronaldo. Despite the world-record fee, Real coach Carlo Ancelotti insists that there are some clubs in Europe who may have paid more for Bale's services. He suggested that it was the Welshman's desire to wear the famous all-white strip of Los Blancos that tipped the balance in Real's favour.Despite the absence of their record signing, Real have won the first three games of the La Liga season. But attention now turns to the Villarreal match - where the world's most expensive player will take centre stage.
