Poland and Greece drew 1-1 in the opening game of the Euro 2012, where both teams ended with ten players on the pitch. Robert Lewandowski scored for Poland in the 17th minute, heading a cross from the right into the net. After being 1 goal and 1 man down into the break, Greece managed to turn the game after half-time. Salpingidis came on after half time to equalize in the 51st minute after Poland goalkeeper Szczesny was impeded by his own team. In 69th minute, Szczesny was red carded after fouling Salpingidis in the box, granting a penalty in the process. Russia's impressive win over the Czech Republic, took them straight to the top of the table.Russia made a slow start but Dzagoev and Roman Shirokov scored to make it a 2-0 lead. Shortly after half time, Vaclav Pilar scored for Czech, but shortly after Dzagoev and substitute Roman Pavlyuchenko both hit one each home and victory was sealed for Russia.
