Aston Villa Fixtures August 2026

28 July 2026 at 13:06

Aston Villa's August 2026 is the most heavily travelled month of any English club's summer. Seven fixtures take Unai Emery's side from Jakarta to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Salzburg and Mönchengladbach before the Premier League season opens at Brighton and the Villa Park lights come on against Arsenal.

Here is the full month, fixture by fixture. Everything listed is covered on our Aston Villa tickets page.

Aston Villa fixtures in August 2026

Date Fixture Kick-off (local) Competition Venue
Sat 1 Aug Indonesia All Stars v Aston Villa 19:00 (13:00 BST) Friendly Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta
Tue 4 Aug BG Pathum United v Aston Villa 19:30 (13:30 BST) Friendly BG Stadium, Pathum Thani
Fri 7 Aug Bayern Munich v Aston Villa 20:00 (13:00 BST) Friendly Kai Tak Stadium, Hong Kong

Sat 15 Aug Borussia Mönchengladbach v Aston Villa 14:30 Friendly Borussia-Park
Sun 23 Aug Brighton & Hove Albion v Aston Villa 14:00 Premier League Amex Stadium
Mon 31 Aug Aston Villa v Arsenal 20:00 Premier League Villa Park

Times are local to each venue, with the UK equivalent in brackets for the tour fixtures. Kick-offs can still move, particularly the two league matches, where broadcast scheduling has the final say.

The Asia tour

Indonesia All Stars v Aston Villa — 1 August, Jakarta

The summer opens at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, one of the largest and loudest grounds in Southeast Asia, against an Indonesia All Stars selection. Indonesian crowds have a reputation for turning friendlies into occasions, and a Saturday evening in Jakarta is a fitting way to start the tour.

BG Pathum United v Aston Villa — 4 August, Pathum Thani

Thailand next, and a meeting with BG Pathum United just north of Bangkok. A Tuesday evening kick-off against one of the Thai League's strongest sides gives Emery a first real test of the tour.

Bayern Munich v Aston Villa — 7 August, Hong Kong

The pick of the tour on paper. Bayern Munich at the Kai Tak Stadium — the ground built on the site of Hong Kong's old airport and now the city's flagship venue — is as strong a friendly as the summer offers. Kai Tak is served directly by the MTR Tuen Ma line, roughly fifteen minutes from Kowloon.

European friendlies

PSG v Aston Villa — 12 August, Salzburg

Back in Europe, and another marquee name: Paris Saint-Germain at the Stadion Salzburg in Austria, a neutral venue for both sides. A midweek evening kick-off against one of the continent's leading clubs is a serious step up in quality a week before the league begins.

Borussia Mönchengladbach v Aston Villa — 15 August, Borussia-Park

The tour closes in Germany against Borussia Mönchengladbach at Borussia-Park, the last outing before the Premier League. Expect close to a first-choice eleven as Emery settles on a shape for the opening weeks.

Premier League: the opening two fixtures

Brighton & Hove Albion v Aston Villa — 23 August, Amex Stadium

Villa begin the league season on the road against Brighton & Hove Albion. The Amex is one of the more modern grounds in the division and a consistently tricky away day, with Brighton's high-tempo game a demanding opener.

The Amex is served by its own station, Falmer, a few minutes' walk from the ground and directly connected to Brighton and Lewes. Current listings are on our Brighton & Hove Albion v Aston Villa page.

Aston Villa v Arsenal — 31 August, Villa Park

The first home league fixture of the season lands on Bank Holiday Monday under the lights against Arsenal. A 20:00 Monday kick-off at Villa Park against the reigning champions is about as big as an opening home fixture gets, and the Holte End on a night game is one of the better atmospheres in the league.

Villa Park is around two miles from Birmingham city centre, with Witton and Aston stations both a short walk away. Seats for the home opener are on our Aston Villa v Arsenal page.

Planning your trip

  • The tour is five venues across three countries. Indonesia, Thailand and Hong Kong each have their own entry requirements — check visas and passport validity well ahead.
  • Watch the time difference. All three Asian fixtures kick off in the early afternoon British time.
  • A Bank Holiday Monday finish. The Arsenal fixture starts at 20:00 on a Monday — check last trains if you are travelling from outside Birmingham.
  • League dates can move. Both Premier League fixtures are subject to television rescheduling, usually confirmed several weeks ahead.

I brought 2 x hospitality tickets for a Liverpool Champions league game on the day for a great price (around 3 x cheaper than through the club, if you can get them!) ticket transfer was quick and easy and instructions were clear. We had a great time and the experience was fantastic from start to finish !

I had a very smooth experience, tickets were delivered on time, I was able to access them seamlessly, added them directly to my wallet. Someone by the name Sam was in touch with me through the process, explained how I should enter the stadium. I was taking my parents for the Arsenal vs Chelsea game. So I was worried about the passes not scanning but his instructions were on point and not difficult and we were all able to enter and watch a great game of football. I would recommend this platform for future use. I had no troubles even though I was hesitant as I had never used it before.
