With the 2026 summer window open until September, Chelsea's business so far has combined two permanent first-team additions with a busy round of contract renewals, loans and Academy departures. Here is the confirmed activity to date, grouped by type, with what each side of the ledger tells us.
Chelsea signings โ summer 2026
| Player | From | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Marco Palestra | Atalanta | Permanent (until 2033) |
| Geovany Quenda | Sporting Lisbon | Permanent (until 2034) |
Marco Palestra was the first arrival of the summer, the Italy international joining permanently from Atalanta at the start of July on a contract through to 2033. Geovany Quenda's move followed: first agreed back in March 2025, the Portugal teenager officially completed his switch from Sporting Lisbon this summer, signing until 2034. Both are long-term investments rather than immediate senior reinforcements.
New contracts
| Player | Detail |
|---|---|
| Jesse Derry | New deal until 2032, then loaned to Sporting for 2026/27 |
| Charlie Holland | First professional contract |
| Justin Osagie | New contract until 2029 |
| Dante Waite | First professional contract |
Away from incomings, Chelsea tied down four young players. Winger Jesse Derry committed until 2032 before agreeing a season-long loan at Sporting, while Charlie Holland and Dante Waite โ the latter fresh from captaining the Under-18s to the national final โ signed their first professional deals. Justin Osagie, a regular for the Under-21s last season, extended to 2029.
Chelsea departures โ summer 2026
| Player | To | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Marc Cucurella | Real Madrid | Permanent |

The two most significant departures are senior ones. Marc Cucurella left for Real Madrid after four seasons at Stamford Bridge, during which he won the Club World Cup and the Conference League and helped Spain to the 2024 Euros. Andrey Santos completed a permanent move to Manchester United after 47 appearances and full Brazil honours as a Blue.
The rest is Academy business. Tyrique George made his Everton loan permanent, Jimmy-Jay Morgan joined West Bromwich Albion and Joseph Wheeler-Henry's Brentford loan was made permanent, while Harrison Murray-Campbell heads to KV Kortrijk in Belgium on loan. Long-serving Academy players Brodi Hughes, Richard Olise, Sam Rak-Sakyi and Jimi Tauriainen all moved on at the end of their contracts.
What it means for the season ahead
The headline is one out, one in at senior level โ Cucurella and Santos out, Palestra and Quenda in as longer-term signings โ set against a wide clear-out of Academy players either loaned or released. Chelsea open the Premier League season away at Fulham on 24 August, with the first home fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion at Stamford Bridge on 30 August.
