Chelsea Transfers Summer 2026

28 July 2026 at 12:49

With the 2026 summer window open until September, Chelsea's business so far has combined two permanent first-team additions with a busy round of contract renewals, loans and Academy departures. Here is the confirmed activity to date, grouped by type, with what each side of the ledger tells us.

Chelsea signings — summer 2026

Player From Type
Marco PalestraAtalantaPermanent (until 2033)
Geovany QuendaSporting LisbonPermanent (until 2034)

Marco Palestra was the first arrival of the summer, the Italy international joining permanently from Atalanta at the start of July on a contract through to 2033. Geovany Quenda's move followed: first agreed back in March 2025, the Portugal teenager officially completed his switch from Sporting Lisbon this summer, signing until 2034. Both are long-term investments rather than immediate senior reinforcements.

New contracts

Player Detail
Jesse DerryNew deal until 2032, then loaned to Sporting for 2026/27

Justin OsagieNew contract until 2029
Dante WaiteFirst professional contract

Away from incomings, Chelsea tied down four young players. Winger Jesse Derry committed until 2032 before agreeing a season-long loan at Sporting, while Charlie Holland and Dante Waite — the latter fresh from captaining the Under-18s to the national final — signed their first professional deals. Justin Osagie, a regular for the Under-21s last season, extended to 2029.

Chelsea departures — summer 2026

The two most significant departures are senior ones. Marc Cucurella left for Real Madrid after four seasons at Stamford Bridge, during which he won the Club World Cup and the Conference League and helped Spain to the 2024 Euros. Andrey Santos completed a permanent move to Manchester United after 47 appearances and full Brazil honours as a Blue.

The rest is Academy business. Tyrique George made his Everton loan permanent, Jimmy-Jay Morgan joined West Bromwich Albion and Joseph Wheeler-Henry's Brentford loan was made permanent, while Harrison Murray-Campbell heads to KV Kortrijk in Belgium on loan. Long-serving Academy players Brodi Hughes, Richard Olise, Sam Rak-Sakyi and Jimi Tauriainen all moved on at the end of their contracts.

What it means for the season ahead

The headline is one out, one in at senior level — Cucurella and Santos out, Palestra and Quenda in as longer-term signings — set against a wide clear-out of Academy players either loaned or released. Chelsea open the Premier League season away at Fulham on 24 August, with the first home fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion at Stamford Bridge on 30 August.

For the full month ahead, see our guide to Chelsea's August 2026 fixtures, including the Asia-Pacific tour and both league openers.

Very good experience and very good tickets. Only comment is that comms around what tickets, what’s included and where to go could be clearer - but fairly easy to work out. Would certainly recommend and will definitely use again - thank you.

Great access to tickets as and when matches come available as a neutral has given me great opportunities to watch matches off my list. Had few issues with a recent game but fair play text through and in no time was in the ground to watch the match.

We cannot say enough positive things about our experience with LiveFootballTickets. From the moment we purchased our football tickets, their customer service was absolutely outstanding. They were professional, responsive, helpful, and genuinely committed to making sure we had an exceptional experience. We traveled all the way from Texas specifically to attend a match in Manchester, making it a very special trip for us. The tickets were absolutely amazing, and the experience exceeded our expectations in every way. What stood out most, however, was the way we were treated as customers. Every interaction made us feel valued and well taken care of. This was much more than simply purchasing football tickets—it was an experience we will remember for the rest of our lives. The company played an important part in making a very special trip into a lifetime memory for us. We would wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone looking for football tickets and a truly exceptional level of customer service. It is clear that they care about their customers and take great pride in providing an outstanding experience. Thank you for helping make our trip so unforgettable. We are incredibly grateful and will absolutely use your company again in the future!
