Liverpool Fixtures August 2026

23 July 2026 at 13:59

Liverpool's August 2026 begins four thousand miles from Merseyside and ends with the first Anfield league match of the season. In between come two European friendlies under the Anfield lights and a Sunday afternoon at St James' Park to open the Premier League campaign.

Here is the full month, fixture by fixture, with what each one offers anyone planning a trip. Everything listed is covered on our Liverpool tickets page.

Liverpool fixtures in August 2026

Date Fixture Kick-off Competition Venue
Sun 2 Aug Liverpool v Leeds United 15:00 CDT Friendly Soldier Field, Chicago
Sun 9 Aug Liverpool v AS Monaco 14:30 Friendly Anfield
Sun 16 Aug Liverpool v Como 1907 18:00 Friendly Anfield
Sun 23 Aug Newcastle United v Liverpool 16:30 Premier League St James' Park
Sat 29 Aug Liverpool v Nottingham Forest 12:30 Premier League Anfield

All times are local to the venue. Kick-offs can still move, particularly the two league fixtures, where broadcast scheduling has the final say.

The pre-season friendlies

Liverpool v Leeds United — 2 August, Soldier Field

The month opens in Chicago. Soldier Field is one of the great American sporting venues, and a Sunday afternoon meeting with Leeds United gives Liverpool's large North American following a rare chance to see the side in person.

The stadium sits on the lakefront just south of downtown Chicago and is reachable on the CTA Red and Green lines to Roosevelt, followed by a short walk. For supporters travelling from the UK it is a long weekend rather than a day trip, but it is the only fixture of the month played outside England.

Liverpool v AS Monaco — 9 August, Anfield

The first of two home friendlies brings AS Monaco to Anfield on a Sunday afternoon. A 14:30 kick-off makes this the most family-friendly fixture of the month and one of the easier ways into Anfield all season — pre-season friendlies typically see wider availability than league matches, when season-ticket holders account for the vast majority of the ground.

If you have never been, this is a good first visit: the stadium is full, the atmosphere is generous, and the pressure of a league Sunday is absent. Availability is listed on our Liverpool v AS Monaco page.

Liverpool v Como 1907 — 16 August, Anfield

Como visit Anfield for an 18:00 Sunday evening kick-off, the last outing before the league begins. Expect something close to a first-choice eleven, and expect Anfield under lights — the best version of the ground for a friendly.

The two sides meet twice on the same day: an earlier fixture is played behind closed doors, with the evening match at Anfield the one open to supporters. Tickets are on our Liverpool v Como page.

Premier League: the opening two fixtures

Newcastle United v Liverpool — 23 August, St James' Park

Liverpool open the league season away at Newcastle United, and the fixture computer has been kind to neutrals: St James' Park on a Sunday teatime is one of the loudest away days in the division, and the two clubs have produced a run of high-scoring meetings in recent seasons.

Newcastle is around three hours from Liverpool by rail with a change at Manchester or York, and St James' Park is genuinely in the city centre — a five-minute walk from Monument Metro station. Away demand for this one is always heavy; check current listings for Newcastle United v Liverpool.

Liverpool v Nottingham Forest — 29 August, Anfield

The first home league fixture of the season lands on Saturday 29 August at 12:30 against Nottingham Forest. An early kick-off at Anfield has its own character: the ground fills early, You'll Never Walk Alone lands before most of the city has finished lunch, and the day is still ahead of you afterwards.

Anfield holds 61,276 and is roughly two miles from Lime Street. The 917 express bus runs direct from the city centre every ten minutes on matchdays, and the Soccerbus shuttle from Sandhills station is the simplest option if you are arriving by train. Seats for the home opener are on our Liverpool v Nottingham Forest page.

Planning your trip

  • An early kick-off changes the day. The Forest fixture starts at 12:30, so plan travel and pre-match around a morning arrival rather than an afternoon one.
  • League dates can move. Both Premier League fixtures are subject to television rescheduling, usually confirmed several weeks ahead.
  • Friendlies are the easier ticket. If Anfield is on your list and you have struggled with league availability, the Monaco and Como matches are the realistic way in.
  • Away allocations are limited. For St James' Park, always select the away section when booking, and book early.

Liverpool tickets

Tickets for Liverpool's August 2026 programme — both Anfield friendlies plus the Premier League openers at Newcastle and at home to Forest — are listed on LiveFootballTickets. Anfield availability is at its widest for the friendlies and tightens sharply once the league season begins.

Every order is covered by our 150% money-back guarantee. If this is your first booking with us, our how it works page walks through the process from checkout to ticket delivery.

Very good experience and very good tickets. Only comment is that comms around what tickets, what’s included and where to go could be clearer - but fairly easy to work out. Would certainly recommend and will definitely use again - thank you.

Great access to tickets as and when matches come available as a neutral has given me great opportunities to watch matches off my list. Had few issues with a recent game but fair play text through and in no time was in the ground to watch the match.

We cannot say enough positive things about our experience with LiveFootballTickets. From the moment we purchased our football tickets, their customer service was absolutely outstanding. They were professional, responsive, helpful, and genuinely committed to making sure we had an exceptional experience. We traveled all the way from Texas specifically to attend a match in Manchester, making it a very special trip for us. The tickets were absolutely amazing, and the experience exceeded our expectations in every way. What stood out most, however, was the way we were treated as customers. Every interaction made us feel valued and well taken care of. This was much more than simply purchasing football tickets—it was an experience we will remember for the rest of our lives. The company played an important part in making a very special trip into a lifetime memory for us. We would wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone looking for football tickets and a truly exceptional level of customer service. It is clear that they care about their customers and take great pride in providing an outstanding experience. Thank you for helping make our trip so unforgettable. We are incredibly grateful and will absolutely use your company again in the future!
