Chelsea Reach FA Cup Final With Narrow Win Over Leeds United

Chelsea are through to the FA Cup Final for the fourteenth time after edging out Leeds United 1-0 in a tense semi-final at Wembley. The Blues will face Manchester City on 16 May, with a ninth FA Cup title on the line. It is a welcome relief for a club that has endured a torrid run of form in the Premier League. A Lifeline for Chelsea

Going into the match, Chelsea had failed to score in five consecutive Premier League defeats, making this anything but a formality. Interim manager Calum McFarlane — taking charge for the second time this season following the dismissal of Liam Rosenior — set his side up well, though it was Leeds who created the first chance of the game. A fine save from Robert Sánchez kept it level, and it would have been against the run of play had Leeds gone ahead.

Fernández Breaks the Deadlock

Chelsea grew into the game and took the lead in the 23rd minute. Captain Enzo Fernández met a precise cross and headed home to open the scoring, seemingly lifting the pressure that had been building around the club. The relief, however, did not translate into a dominant performance — Chelsea failed to press home their advantage and allowed Leeds back into the contest.

Sánchez the Hero in the Second Half

Leeds came out with intent after the break and pushed hard for an equaliser. Sánchez was called upon twice more with excellent saves to keep Chelsea's lead intact. Despite growing pressure, Leeds lacked the cutting edge to truly threaten, and Chelsea were content to absorb and see the game out.

Nearly ten minutes of stoppage time were added, largely due to repeated interruptions, but Chelsea managed it comfortably enough. A 1-0 win may not have been pretty, but for a side desperate to salvage something from a difficult season, it will do just fine.

    Great experience!! Bought 4 tickets for Man City and palace as part of my son’s Christmas (not cheap and travelling from Glasgow )got an email at the start of the year and thought here we go this is a scam! Contacted them via email and got an email back within 24 hours, very helpful. Game had to be postponed and I was kept up to date via email what was going on, 1 week before the game got an update to say the tickets would be with me 24 hours prior. The day before the game I got a wats app from nick explaining how to download the tickets and where to go etc! On the day of the game I go another message with nick to advise he was on site at Man City football ground an if we needed any help give him a call. No call was needed as everything was straight forward, couldn’t recommend them enough was an absolute great service with the team going over and above to help!
