Manchester City sinks deeper into crisis with fifth straight

Guardiola’s changes fail to stop the bleeding

Pep Guardiola sought to inject life into his team in the second half by introducing Nathan Aké and Jack Grealish, both recently returning from injury. However, Tottenham soon sealed the victory. In the 55th minute, Pedro Porro latched onto a low cross and slotted the ball past Ederson, making it 3-0 and effectively ending City’s chances of a comeback. The loss leaves Manchester City five points adrift of league leaders Liverpool, who can stretch their advantage to eight points if they defeat bottom-placed Southampton on Sunday. For City, the title race is slipping away as they grapple with their worst form under Guardiola’s management.
