The FA Cup is the biggest and best cup in the World of football. For every team it’s a huge honour to win this cup. Especially the top 6 teams who aren’t winning a lot of Premier League titles, want the FA Cup as silverware. The draw hasn’t been exactly very friendly for the top 6 teams, with two top 6 battles already. Manchester City faced Chelsea in the first round the big teams join the tournament. The second round it was Manchester City versus Arsenal. In this article we discuss the results of the big 6 teams in the Premier League.

Manchester City versus Arsenal

This is the big rivalry in English football during the 2022-2023 season. Arsenal is currently in first place at the table, with 5 points lead and 1 game more to play. Manchester City wants to close this gap. Both teams must play each other twice this season, which will be decisive matches. This FA Cup match was the first time we could see which team is the best out of these two. Unfortunately Arsenal played a second tier team, so we can’t say a lot about the difference between these two. A goal by Nathan Ake decided the match in favour of Manchester City.

Preston North End versus Tottenham Hotspur

The Spurs is the top 6 team with the longest streak without winning anything. This season the FA Cup looks the only remaining option for them to win some silverware. After a boring first half, Heung-Min Son (2) and Arnaud Danjuma put Tottenham Hotspur past Preston into the next round.

Manchester United versus Reading

Manchester United is the only English team that’s still in 4 tournaments. They are currently in the Premier League top 4. With one and a half legs in the Carabao Cup final and play Barcelona in the Europa League. In the FA Cup they played reading and managed to beat them with 3-1. With all Brazilian goals, they progress to the next round.
