Tottenham blows title race wide open

Tottenham Hotspur isn’t involved in a Premier League title race this season. They are trying to fight for a top 4 position. Nevertheless, the Spurs is the team that blowed the title race wide open on Saturday evening. Tottenham Hotspur played Manchester City in an exciting match. Exciting battle at Etihad Stadium

From the very first minute of this game, it was a very good one. Manchester City started how they always start their matches. From the start they got possession of the ball. Something the Spurs team didn’t mind. Antonio Conte’s team was happy to lean back and the moment they got the ball they catapulted towards Man City’s box. Within a few minutes Heung-Min Son got close to the City box and played in Kulusevki. The Swede scored his first goal for Tottenham Hotspur. The goal was a signal for Man City to push forward even more, which led to an equaliser before half-time. Gundogan was the one to score the 1-1.

Late drama for title race

Manchester City started this match with a 6 points lead on Liverpool, after the Reds won their game against Norwich City earlier on the day. Both teams had equal amount of games when the match started. A victory would bring them on 9 points with a game extra played. After about 60 minutes played, Harry Kane got the lead back for Tottenham. He looked to double the lead minutes later, but VAR ruled it out for offside.

This looked to become very costly when Man City got a penalty early in extra time. Riyad Mahrez fired the ball in the top of the net to give Man City a point. While Man City tried to get a winner, Tottenham got a counter attack where Kulusevski assisted Kane to score the winning goal. A great result for Antonio Conte’s side. For Man City things are getting interesting now. Liverpool is only 6 points away and have a spare match to play. With Man City v Liverpool still to play, things are getting very exciting towards the end of this season.
