This Premier League weekend was an interesting one for the big 6. Unfortunately, one of the big six teams didn’t play because of a Covid-19 outbreak in their camp. Manchester City versus Wolverhampton Wanderers

The first big 6 team in action, was the leader of the Premier League. Manchester City played Wolverhampton Wanderers, who already proved to be a tough team to beat this season. Man City really struggled to get through the Wolves defense. A penalty in the 66th minute, netted by Raheem Sterling, eventually was the decider of this match. Arsenal versus Southampton

This could become a vital match for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. After some poor games, it feels like he’s under pressure again. A home loss against Southampton wouldn’t help his case. Arsenal started rusty in this match. Alexandre Lacazette opened the score in the 21st minute of the game and this lifted some weight of Arsenal’s shoulders. A few minutes later Martin Ødegaard doubled Arsenal’s lead. A very important goal for the Gunners, who knew it would be hard for Southampton to score two past Aaron Ramsdale. Chelsea versus Leeds United

Chelsea versus Leeds United was by far the most entertaining match of this Premier League weekend. Raphina opened the score halfway the first half from the penalty spot. Just before halftime Mason Mount drew the game level for Chelsea. A penalty by Jorginho gave Chelsea the lead after almost an hour of play. In the 83th minute, Joe Gelhardt scored the 2-2 for Leeds United. This looked to be the final goal of the match, until Chelsea got another penalty in the 94th minute. Jorginho stepped up and scored his second penalty of the match. Chelsea got a 3-2 victory and stays close to Manchester City.

Liverpool versus Aston Villa

Many of the big six teams struggled this weekend as was Liverpool. The Reds played against Aston Villa, managed by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard. Gerrard’s side managed to put out a real fight for the points in this match. It’s the week of penalties and so was this match. Liverpool got a penalty and Mohamed Salah was the one to net this one. Norwich City versus Manchester United

Manchester United’s match was very similar to the match of their neighbours Manchester City. They struggled to open up a solid Norwich City side. Late in the second half, Manchester United got a penalty. Cristiano Ronaldo took his responsibility and scored the winning goal for Manchester United.
