Premier League gameweek 12 preview

The international break always feels like it takes about a month or so. Not because we dislike international football, but just because we miss the Premier League. We’re very happy Premier League football returns tomorrow, and we’ve got the last international break of this season. So, from now until January 2022 we’ve got a lot of Premier league matches to watch. In this article we discuss some of the matches we’re looking forward to.

Leicester City versus Chelsea

The first match of this weekend is a very exciting one. The leaders of the Premier League will travel to King Power Stadium to play Leicester City. The Foxes are currently in twelfth place, but they did beat Manchester United recently. Chelsea announced themself as serious contender for the 2021-2022 Premier League title. It going to be very interesting to see what they can do against Leicester City. An away win at King Power Stadium will give the Blues a lot of confidence for their upcoming matches against Juventus and against Manchester United next weekend. Liverpool versus Arsenal

The main act of this weekend is the final match on Saturday. Liverpool and Arsenal is a battle for the fourth place. Liverpool is currently in fourth after losing against West Ham United last Premier League weekend. West Ham passed them after that match, now it’s up to Arsenal to try and pass Liverpool on the table in a mutual battle. Liverpool comes on the back of a loss, while Arsenal haven’t lost in their last 8 Premier League matches. After losing the first three, they are on a good run now. Can Arsenal extend this run, or will Liverpool recover from the loss against West Ham?

Aston Villa versus Brighton and Hove Albion

Brighton is one of the surprises of this season. Graham Potter created a team that plays good football and is in contention for a European football ticket. Aston Villa just sacked their manager Dean Smith and his replacement makes this match very interesting. Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard will manage his first Premier League match for Aston Villa this weekend. He comes from Rangers where he won the title after an era dominated by Celtic. It’s going to be very interesting to see if he’s capable to get Aston Villa going again.
