Chelsea got important victory in Newcastle!

Saturday was a very exciting day filled with matches from the big six teams in the English Premier League. Liverpool and Manchester City failed to win their match, so a victory would mean some very important points for the Blues from London. Chelsea played an away match against Newcastle United. The club that’s been in a party mood ever since their club got bought by the Saudis.

Even though the atmosphere at Newcastle is a very exciting one, things on the pitch look a lot different. After 9 matches they collected only four points so far. Which left them in 19th place on the table so far. A place that will be a nightmare for the new owners. What happens if they just bought the club, and it goes down? That will only delay their project of building a title winning squad. A low pace by Chelsea, gave Newcastle United the chance to hold them of in the first half. Chelsea wasn’t able to create anything big. A goal by Hakim Ziyech got cancelled by VAR, which led to a 0-0 score at half-time.

The intensity of Chelsea went up in the second half and that proved to be vital for their goal to win this match. It was defender Reece James who scored the 1-0 and 2-0 in quick succession. A penalty by Jorginho finished it all off. Chelsea won with 0-3 and are now 3 points ahead of Liverpool on top of the Premier League table. For Newcastle things don’t look good. They stay on four points after 10 matches. If Norwich City manages to get a win against Leeds United, Newcastle United will be in last place. For sure their new owners will start spending big in the winter transfer window to deny getting relegated.
