Chelsea destroys Norwich City

Chelsea had two big setbacks during midweek. They faced Malmo during for the Champions League and lost both Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner with injuries. The question was who was going to be their main target man to get some goals in the game against Norwich City. Well, that worry was all for nothing we know now. Chelsea absolutely destroyed Norwich.

Academy graduates do the job

Kai Havertz was the player who replaced Lukaku as the striker against Norwich City. But it was his teammate Mason Mount who stole all the shine. The youngster, who’s currently one of the most important graduates of Chelsea’s youth academy. He opened the score early in the first half after an assist by Jorginho. Another youth academy graduate Callum Hudson Odoi doubled the lead ten minutes later. Just before half-time Mason found assisted Reece James for the 3-0. A 3-0 lead at half-time, with all goals scored by Chelsea youth products. Something that gets the true Chelsea fans really proud.

Magic Mason Mount

Mason Mount crowned himself the star of the night. Ben Chilwell and an own goal by Aarons led to a 5-0 lead for Chelsea. But in the last five minutes of the game, Mason Mount scored two more to complete his hat-trick. A hat-trick and an assist is his final contribution in this match. Chelsea won the game with 7-0, a huge result for the Blues. Kai Havertz was probably the only player not happy with the result. He played as a striker and wasn’t directly involved in any of the seven goals. Now Chelsea will prepare for the EFL Cup against Southampton and then travels to Newcastle to face Newcastle United in the Premier League.
