Chelsea beats Tottenham Hotspur in London derby
The game everybody was looking forward to is the battle between Chelsea Fc and Tottenham Hotspur. The London derby between two big teams who are real rivals are always interesting to watch. Are both teams really going for it, or do we see two teams that don’t want to lose? This early in the season, we expect two teams to go for it.
The first half of this match was an equal one. The consensus before this match was that Chelsea should be on top in this battle. Ever since Thomas Tüchel took over the managerial job, Chelsea has been very impressive. Tottenham Hotspur however surprised most of us by being the better team in the first half. They didn’t dominate the match, but going back into the dressing rooms at half-time, Spurs fans were more satisfied about the 45 minutes of football they watched.

Everything changed early in the second half. Chelsea started playing forward more from the start which led to a corner. Marcos Alonso perfectly placed the corner on Thiago Silva’s head who opened the score for Chelsea. Only a few minutes later Chelsea doubled the lead thanks to a goal by N’Golo Kante. This goal pretty much settled the deal, even though there was still more than 30 minutes to play. Late in the game German defender Antonio Rudiger also got himself on the scoresheet, setting the final score at 0-3 for Chelsea. A result that wasn’t looking likely in the first 45 minutes, but was completely deserved at the end of the match.
Next weekend is going to be another special one for Chelsea fans. They closed this weekend, but next weekend they will open the Premier League weekend at home against Manchester City.
