It’s coming home is the common believe in England at the moment. But what is really home is the question? England once won the World Cup in 1966, but the current team is writing history at the Euros. Sunday is the first time in history that the Three Lions will play a Euro 2020 final. They face Italy, who needed penalties to get by Spain in the semi-finals.
England beats Denmark in extra time
The Danish side was a tough opponent for England in the semi-final. We can wholeheartedly say they were the toughest opponent yet during the tournament. An amazing freekick by Mikkel Damsgaard brought Denmark the lead in the first half. England needed an own goal by Simon Kjær to equalise the game. After this equaliser it was clear what the intentions of both teams were. England wanted to score a winner during regular time, while Denmark leaned back and wanted to get to penalties. In the end it was a penalty that decided the match, but not in the way Denmark wanted it. England got rewarded a penalty in extra time. Harry Kane missed it but netted the rebound. England’s game management after this goal was extremely good, which led to their first Euro final ever.
