Top 4 race finish in the English Premier League

The last round of the Premier League starts today. The last ten matches of a strange footballing season in the UK all start at the same time today. Earlier this week we talked about the fight against relegation. This article goes all about the race of the top four. Just like the relegation battle, this race is all about just 3 teams. Liverpool are the champions, Manchester City finish in second. Chelsea, Leicester City and Manchester United all want to finish in the top 4.

Chelsea

The Blues from London have got the best starting position in the top 4 race. They are in fourth place with 63 points and a slightly worse goal difference than Manchester United. Considering Man United and Leicester City face each other today, Chelsea just need a draw to confirm a top 4 finish. They play against Wolverhampton Wanderers who still want to finish in the top 5 by beating Chelsea.

Manchester United v Leicester City

The match between Manchester United and Leicester City is going to be the most interesting one this game week. Man United is on 63 points, Leicester City on 62. The Foxes need to win this match to get back into the top 4, after just dropping out recently. They’ve been in the top four for the whole season, but if they don’t win this match, they won’t play Champions League football next season. Man United just entered the top 4 and it looks like they’re in the right form just in time.
