Can Liverpool finally win that Elusive Premier League title?

Liverpool have not won a league title since before the start of the Premier League with their last triumph coming in 1990. There have been a few “nearly” years including last season where they got 97 points but still came second to Man City. However, this year feels like it could be their year. It is still very early in the campaign and a lot could change from now until the end of the season, but Liverpool have started just where they left off.

Liverpool are on a club-record run of winning 15 league games in a row. They only need three to equal City’s domestic record of 18 and four to break it. However, they have to face Manchester United and Spurs in the next four games which will make breaking the record a little harder. With the form they are in though, you would not put it passed them to do so.

Liverpool’s defense started the season a bit shaky but are looking as if they are feeling more comfortable and getting back to the standards of last season. Their front three are continuing to perform week in week out and are one of the most feared tridents in all of Europe. Sometimes it is argued that Liverpool’s midfield is their weak point and lacks some creativity but this year they are looking very solid and there is strong competition for places.

Liverpool have started the season very well and are already five points ahead of Manchester City in the league. However, two bad game weeks could change everything and allow City straight back into it. With that being said, Klopp seems very determined to have his squad performing to their best of the abilities every week and is taking it game by game. Their squad seems to be the best squad they have had in many years and definitely has the credentials to win titles as they showed last season in the Champions League. Klopp will be hoping that there are no major injuries and his squad keeps performing the way that they are which gives them a very big chance of winning that elusive Premier League this year.
