Chelsea Manchester city preview
Chelsea host the champions on Saturday late kick off. Chelsea have been in a poor patch of from, they have only won one in four in the Premier League, with two loses in the last three. Until Chelsea lost to Tottenham last week, they were the only unbeaten team in Europe in all competitions. Now it seems that if they lose against City, they will be out of the title race already.
Manchester City on the other hand, just cannot seem to drop points. Last season it took them until January to loser a game, and based on their performances this season, it doesn’t see, like they can lose. However, this will prove to be a good test for City as Chelsea are a strong side when on their day. City will know it is very important to keep winning though, because Liverpool are only two points behind them in second.
City are favorites to win this game, as their squad is so strong and has so much depth. In their 2-1 mid-week win against Watford they made 6 changes and were comfortable in the game until the last 10 minutes, when Watford scored and gave City a late scare. City will be hopeful that Aguero will make a comeback after missing the last two matches, however, it is doubtful that he will be fit in time.
Sarri needs to see how he can get his Chelsea players playing the same as they were in the early stages of the season. Eden Hazard has especially not been as influential as he was earlier in the season. He scored seven league goals by October 7th, however, has not scored since. Perhaps it is time for an alternative to the “Sarri-ball” in order to have a plan B.
