Tottenham Hotspur versus Chelsea preview
Tottenham host Chelsea in the Premier League this Saturday. This London derby is a big game for both teams. Only one point and one place separate the two sides. Tottenham are the only team in the league that have not drawn a game yet, however, have lost three matches. Chelsea on the other hand are one of three teams not to lose yet but have drawn four matches.
Tottenham have made their best start to a Premier League season but have not played that well against big teams so far. The only top 6 club they beat this season was Manchester United and that was during United’s poor period. When Spurs played against Liverpool and City, both games they only lost by one goal but there was a difference in quality during the match. This is why this game against Chelsea will be a big game for Tottenham to show their quality against a big team.
Spurs will welcome back Sanchez, which Pochettino will be happy about. However, Trippier is still a doubt to make the team. Dembele, Vertonghen and Rose are all out with longer term injuries and will not feature.
Chelsea are the only team in the top five leagues that are yet to lose in any competition. This is a very good achievement for Sarri who only joined Chelsea this summer and has improved the team that had a difficult end to last season. Hazard has been on good form this season, however, since he got injured, he has not looked as fit and sharp as he was before. Sarri will need him to get back to his best for this match. Sarri will also hope that Morata will have a bigger impact. He has scored five goals in eleven games, but his overall contribution to the team has not been up to the standards that Chelsea need. The only slight injury concern Chelsea have is Kovacic was injured on international duty and might not be fit in time for the match.
