EFL Cup/Carabao Cup

The of EFL Cup, or also known as the Carabao Cup has begun round 4. Last three matches were supposed to be played. However, due to the tragic helicopter accident involving the president of Leicester City, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, their match has been postponed. Burton Albion were victorious by a 3-2 shoreline, against Nottingham Forrest, whereas Bournemouth beat Norwich 2-1 at home.

There are four matches being played tonight, Wednesday, and only one match being played tomorrow on Thursday. Tonight, there are some interesting ties to watch. Firstly, Frank Lampard makes a return to the club, Chelsea, where he spent 13 years playing for them, won 13 trophies including three Premier League titles, and the Champions League. It will be an emotional return for him as a manager, and he is confident that his team Derby can cause an upset at Stamford Bridge.

Another interesting match on tonight is the London Derby between West Ham and Tottenham. The two teams met 11 days ago in the Premier League, however, the game ended 0-1 for Tottenham. West Ham will hope that they can get a better result this time. Tottenham will be up for this game because they know that they should be competing for silverware this season and the EFL Cup is a good opportunity for them to do so.

Middlesbrough are hosting Crystal Palace tonight and they are hoping to cause an upset and make it to the quarter final of the cup. The last match that is being played tonight is between Arsenal and Blackpool. Last year’s beaten finalist, Arsenal know that this should be an easy win against League One Blackpool.

The final game of the round Is between Manchester City and Fulham. This will again be a game that City know they can easily win without too many issues. Fulham had two relatively easy games the first two round against Exeter City, and Millwall and this will be their first challenge of the cup.
