Manchester United put their recent confidence draining defeat by local rivals Manchester City to cruise past League Two club Aldershot in the Carling Cup. Arsenal meanwhile produced a 2-1 win over premiership opponents Bolton Wanderers.

Berbatov opened the scoring with a well placed close finish after some quality build-up play. Just before half time the Bulgarian forward Berbatov set up Micheal Owen for United's second. Soon after the break Aldershot fund themselves 3 down when Valencia struck a powerful shot from 25 years out beating the stunned Aldershot 'keeper. Arsenal 2-1 Bolton Wanderers

Well worked goals from Andrey Arshavin and Ju Young Park secured the Gunners' progress in the Carling Cup. They had t come from behind to do it, however, with Fabrice Muamba opening the scoring for Bolton at the start of the second half.     Last minute treat for the youngest to attend the match, within the hour of buying the tickets they where in my wallet and the seats were brilliant, could maybe make it a little clearer on the fees as I thought the price was £140 but ended up £182 other than that excellent
