PSG is the second best-supported football club in France after arch-rivals Marseille. Qatar Investment Authority has been the sole shareholder of PSG since 2012. Following QIA's takeover, PSG became the richest club in France and one of the richest clubs in the world.
On 12 May 2013, Paris Saint-Germain won the Ligue 1 title after a 1–0 away win against Lyon, their third title and first since 1994.
