History

Several Oxbridge graduates founded the club Football Goal in 1895. They played their matches on Sunday mornings at Moncloa. The club won the first Copa del Rey in 1900, at that time the only statewide competition. King Alfonso XIII granted the club the title of Real in 1920. This was the moment the club’s name was changed into Real Madrid. In 1931 the club dropped the word Real and became Madrid C.F. because of dropping Real. Due to the stagnation of the Civil War, the club virtually ceased to exist in 1937. Santiago Bernabeu Yeste has been players, captain, and first team manager before becoming president in 1945. He was responsible for rebuilding the club after the Civil War and building Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Bernabeu Yeste reorganized the entire club in what would become the normal operating hierarchy of professional clubs in the future. In 1953 Bernabeu started the strategy of signing world-class players from abroad. A strategy which the club still uses. This strategy immediately led to big successes for the club. Afredo di Stefano and Ferenc Puskas helped to club to five European Cup wins in a row between 1956 and 1960. The club has won several La Liga, Champions League and other trophies since.

Santiago Bernabeu Stadium

Santiago Bernabeu Stadium is located in Chamartin district of Madrid. On 27 October 1944 they began to build this stadium. Three years later, on 14 December 1947, the Nuevo Estadio Chamartin was inaugurated with the match between Real Madrid and Os Belenenses. The initial capacity of the stadium was 75,145 people. 8 years after the inauguration the first major renovation occurred. The stadium expanded to a capacity of 125,000 people. 1955 was also the year it was decided to rename the stadium after club President Santiago Bernabeu. The stadium has grown into one of the biggest and most famous football stadiums worldwide. Bernabeu has hosted four European Cup finals and one Champions League final. Livefootballtickets.com offers you the opportunity to visit this prestigious stadium in real life. Book your Real Madrid tickets online and watch Los Blancos live at Bernabeu! Trophies and Records

Real Madrid is one of the most successful and prestigious clubs in the world. They won a record number of domestic league and Champions League titles. In 1932 Real Madrid won their first La Liga trophy, 80 years later in 2012 they won their 32nd La Liga trophy. To date this is the last domestic league trophy for Los Blancos. Besides 32 La Liga trophies they also won 19 Copa del Rey trophies, 9 Supercopa de Espana trophies and 11 Champions League trophies. Winning La Decima in 2014 was one of the highlights in the history of Real Madrid. Real was the first team in the history to win 10 European Cup/Champions League trophies. Only two years later they won their 11th European Cup/Champions League trophy in an all Madrid final.

Real Madrid 2016-2017

Real Madrid is once again a serious contender for all leagues they are participating in. For La Liga and the Copa Del Rey they need to deal with the competition of Fc Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. These teams are also two of the biggest rivals for the 2016-2017 Champions League trophy. Los Blancos’ squad is really strong this season with superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and players like Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale, Toni Kroos, Pepe and Sergio Ramos. Former Real super star Zinedine Zidane is manager of the club. He has probably one of the strongest squads in Real Madrid’s history. The team is very balanced with the right combination of attacking and defensive players. We offer you the opportunity to visit Los Galacticos live in action!
