Preview of CL Games: Leverkusen-PSG, ManCity-Barcalona

Preview of Leverkusen vs. Paris St. Germain

Leverkusen have so far performed excellently in the Bundesliga competition, second only to Bayern Munich in the league. However, they're still considered the underdogs against PSG in the upcoming tie and they currently sit five points clear of their nearest League 1 rivals.

The French team will have to do without Edison Cavani due to his injury, but they have Ibrahimovic available to lead their lineup against Leverkusen. Ibrahimovic has yet to achieve winner status in the competition and is running out of time as he is not expected to play in the World Cup this summer.

Although Bayer Levekusen have fewer stars on the books than their opponents from France, Sidney Sam and Son Heung-Min are both performing well this season. Stopping the attacks from PSG will need to be their highest priority, although they do have a team more than capable of causing PSG some harm.

PSG fielded a weakened team and lost to Benefica last time around, but that was their first time losing in 14 games. Leverkusen's fragility has been underlined by their 5-0 loss at home to Manchester United.

Moura, Lavezzi and Pastore have all suffered from inconsistent performances this season, but PSG are still hoping to better their Champions League bid. In the quarter final last year, PSG went out after Barcelona got to the final on away goals. Cabaye has been included on PSG's squad for the Champions League and could be set to make his fifth club appearance since January.

Preview of Manchester City vs. Barcelona

Four-time Euro champs, Barcelona are about to face Manchester City in their first knockout stage game of this season's Champions League. Manchester City spent the last two years underachieving in Champions League competitions, but the team are finally looking good. Man City finished level with Bayern Munich at 15 points, although they are trailing behind on goal difference scores.

The only defeat City have experienced this season was against Bayern as they lost 3-1 in October, however, in the return leg they defeating the German team 3-2.

Barcelona finished their group with four points clear of rival Milan with their only defeat coming after they had already qualified for the next round. They played well in the recent La Liga cup match as they defeated Rayo Vallecano 6-0. Goals from Sanchez, Adriano, Pedro, Neymar and Messi cinched the game.

Messi looks to have returned to top form after his two-month layoff because of an injury. He returned in the beginning of January and has now scored for Barcelona 337 times. Of the 337 goals, only one has been scored for the team in England back in 2011.

The two teams have met on just 6 occasions, all of which have been friendly encounters. The Spanish side were the first visitors to the Etihad Stadium after it was finished back in 2003. Barcelona will be looking to end their losing streak in England as they have lost 5/6 of the previous games on English soil. A draw with Man City could still tip the balance in their favour.
