England v Switzerland preview

The next round of Euro 2012 qualifiers sees England taking on Switzerland at Wembley Stadium tomorrow. Having beaten the Swiss 3-1 in September, England need to put in another good performance to stay top of Group G. Switzerland are in turmoil having lost three of their attack although England boss Fabio Capello still regards them as dangerous. As he told reporters, the Swiss have "six players from Serie A, two or three from Germany, two more from England. Also, they need to win."Capello stressed the need for England to win as well, noting that the Three Lions may be top of the group, but only on goals scored over Montenegro. Both teams have 10 points. The Swiss are currently third, but only have 4 points, having been beaten by Montenegro and England.Napoli's midfielder Gokhan Inler still thinks that the Swiss could have a chance at Wembley, citing the pressure that England's stars will be under from an expectant home crowd. He also suggested that the Swiss will enjoy the occasion and play with freedom because of their underdog status. However, history is against Switzerland, who have won once in the past 18 meetings between the sides. That came back in 1981 during the 1982 World Cup qualifiers. It should be plain sailing for England.Buy Euro 2012 tickets at Livefootballtickets.com.
