Arsenal and Bayern share the points

Arsenal versus Bayern Munich is a match with a past. The last time Arsenal played in the Champions League before this match, they faced Bayern Munich in the knockout stages. The Germans beat Arsenal with 10-2 on aggregate in those games. This was the final nail in Arsenal’s coffin, leading to massive changes at the club. After a 7 year absence, Arsenal is back and got Bayern Munich in the quarter final of this Champions League season.

Domination

Arsenal pretty much dominated the start of this match and it was Bukayo Saka who capitalized on their amazing start. The youngster opened the score in the 12th minute. It all looked good for Arsenal, until former Arsenal player Serge Gnabry score the equaliser out of the blue. A few minutes later Saliba brought Sane down in the box leading to a penalty for Bayern Munich, This time it was a former Spurs player who put the Gunners in even more trouble. Harry Kane netted the penalty when David Raya went down pretty early during the strikers’ run-up. This gave the England captain the opportunity to slide the ball easy into the other corner. The 1-2 lead for Bayern stayed on the scoreboard till halftime.

Arsenal struggles

Arsenal is very dominant in the Premier League this season and wins a lot of games with ease. Bayern Munich is in the middle of a very poor season in which they will stop their title winning streak. The more surprising it is that Bayern Munich managed to give Arsenal a very hard time. They managed to hold the Gunners away from their goal until the 76th minute. Oncoming subs Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard combined in the box leaving the latter in the perfect position to score the 2-2. The Belgium did what he needed to do and score the vital equalizer.

Big fight upcoming

With a 2-2 score, the away match in Munich is going to be a very special one. Arsenal will need to find a way to win in Germany. So far they only managed to win 1 away match in the Champions League this season. If they want to make it to the Champions League final, a win in Germany is needed to face either Real Madrid or Manchester City in the semi-final.
