FA Cup fourth round Friday and Saturday results

The FA Cup is one of the best cup tournament, because of the upsets. Everybody likes to see the underdog beating a better team. The last two days were filled with FA Cup matches and once again a big upset got the entire footballing World excited. In this article we briefly run through all Friday and Saturday FA Cup matches.

Day 2 highlights:

  • Bristol City vs Nottingham Forest: Ended in a 0-0 draw.
  • Chelsea vs Aston Villa: A goalless draw with strong defenses from both sides.
  • Sheffield Wednesday vs Coventry City: A 1-1 draw, with Sheffield equalizing in the second half.
  • Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City: Manchester City secured a narrow 1-0 win. A 90th minute winner by Nathan Ake got Manchester City through to the next round. A goal that ended Man City's run of 5 games away against Tottenham Hotspur without a goal.

Day 3 surprises:

  • Ipswich Town vs Maidstone: Maidstone achieved a remarkable 2-1 victory, despite being 98 ranks lower. This is the fairytale story every football fan loves, except for the Ipswich fans of course. Maidstone now hopes for a draw against a top club.
  • Everton vs Luton Town FC: Luton Town surprised with a 2-1 win over Everton.
  • Leeds United FC vs Plymouth Argyle: The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
  • Leicester City vs Birmingham City: Leicester City won convincingly with a 3-0 score.
  • Sheffield United vs Brighton: Brighton triumphed with a 5-2 victory.
  • Fulham vs Newcastle United: Newcastle United came out on top with a 2-0 win.

This round of the FA Cup has once again proven why it is one of the most beloved football competitions, filled with drama, excitement, and unexpected outcomes. The anticipation for the next round is already building.
