Carabao Cup final will be between Man United and Newcastle

The Carabao Cup final is traditionally the first final of the new year. Without overreacting, we can say this season’s one is a special one. In the recent history Manchester City has won a bunch of finals. This time they’re not in it. Their neighbours Manchester United are in the final. It’s the first time in five years they are in a final. Their opponents will be Newcastle United. After 23 years, Newcastle United is finally back in a final. Carabao Cup final tickets are available via our online football tickets marketplace.

Newcastle United

For the first time in 23 years, Newcastle United will play a cup match at Wembley Stadium. The FA Cup semi-final in 2000 was the last time they played in the English national football stadium in the cup. The two years before they played FA Cup finals and lost both. In the meantime they had a bad spell, even dropped to the Championship. After the Saudi takeover last year, Newcastle put Eddie Howe in the manager spot and is building a new trophy winning team. This Carabao Cup final will be their first big opportunity to do something very special.

Manchester United

Manchester United is a club that’s used to win trophies. During the Sir Alex Ferguson reign, it was unthinkable the club wouldn’t win anything for two years in a row. Let alone not attending any final in 5 years. Now Erik ten Hag took control of the club, winning mentality looks to be back in the red part of Manchester. After a good qualification they are now in the final. It would be a massive start of Ten Hag’s time at Manchester United.
