Argentina and France win their second match!

Argentina was subject of the most talk during the 2022 World Cup so far. Fans with and without World Cup 2022 ticktets spoke about Saudi Arabia beating Argentina in the first match of Group C during this tournament. France was one of the favourites that did do what they should’ve been doing in the first round. Now it’s time to look at their results during the second round. These are teams that might face England later down the line in this tournament.

World Cup 2022 Group C matchday 2

Poland and Saudi Arabia opened matchday 2 in this group. It was Piotr Zielinski who opened the score in the 39th minute. A missed penalty by Saudi Arabia just before half-time knocked their confidence. Nevertheless they kept on going in the second half, but it was Robert Lewandowski with the only goal in the second half. A 2-0 victory that brought Poland the first place in this group. Argentina played Mexico and needed the brilliance of Lionel Messi to win this match. A goal and an assist by Messi brought Argentina the 2-0 victory. They are now second in the group 1 point behind Poland. A victory over Poland in the final matchday will most likely give Argentina the top spot in Group C.

World Cup 2022 Group D matchday 2

In Group D we saw a favourite for the title winning their first match. Something we can’t say about all groups. France misses a few very good players, but are still an amazing team. Two goals by Mbappe and 1 for Denmark bij Christensen, led to a 2-1 victory for France. On the same day Australia managed to beat Tunisia 1-0. With France being qualified for the next round with 6 points, Denmark, Australia and Tunisia all got a chance to finish in second place. All these teams will remain hope to get to the World Cup final.
