Now it’s time to dive into the last group of our preview series. In this article we discuss group H of the 2022 World Cup tournament.

Portugal

Portugal had a very tough qualification period. Even though they’ve got some great players with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Bernardo Silva and Bruno Fernandes. They finished second in their qualification group after losing against Serbia on the last matchday. In the playoffs Portugal played Italy. Eventually they eliminated Italy and now Portugal is seen as the favourites to win Group H. If they really want to win this group, they should up their level.

Uruguay

Uruguay has a somewhat strange squad. They’ve got some aging strikers with the likes of Luis Suarez and Edison Cavani. On the other side there are some young talents in this squad with the Man United youngster Pellistri as the main talent. It’s going to be very interesting to see how Uruguay will perform during this exciting tournament in Qatar. The most likely scenario is that they will be fighting for the second spot in Group H, together with the two teams we’re going to talk about below.

South Korea

South Korea qualified for the World Cup after finishing second in the Third Round Group A. The big star of South Korea is Tottenham Hotspur player Heung-Min Son. He is the one who should lead his team to the next round of this tournament. Wolves striker Hee-Chan Hwang will be his main striking partner on this tournament. South Korea will aim to finish in second place behind Portugal in this group.

Ghana

Ghana is the final team in this group. Looking at all names in this group, shows there isn’t much in between the teams between 2nd and 4th. Portugal looks the main team, but Ghana should be able to compete with Uruguay and South Korea for the second spot in the group. Kamaldeen Sulemana, Thomas Partey and Mohammed Kudus are the hope of the nation. Can this strong African side get through to the next round? We will know in about 4 months from now!
