Leeds United versus Chelsea

Leeds United was on the verge of relegation towards the end of last season. A last minute goal in the last match of the season secured their spot in the Premier League. They started the new season with a few good signings, after losing Kalvin Philips to Manchester City. With 4 points from two games, they started this season very well. Equally as well as Chelsea, who also got 4 points from their first two matches. This match was going to be a real test for Leeds United. Are they able to do Chelsea any harm? Early in the first half the Blues scored by Raheem Sterling, but his goal was denied due to being offside. A huge mistake by Mendy gave Leeds United the 1-0 lead by an Aaronson goal. A few minutes later Rodrigo headed the ball against the back of the net. Leeds United went back into the dressing room with a 2-0 victory. A third goal by Harrison was the final nail in Chelsea’s coffin. Leeds United shows that they are going for it this season.

Newcastle United versus Manchester City

The last game of this Sunday was another very interesting game. Eddie Howe managed to get Newcastle United playing after the Saudi takeover. They started this season with 4 points out of their first two games. Right from the start they showed their intentions in this game against Manchester City. Nevertheless it was Gundogan who scored an early goal for Man City. Miguel Almiron and Callum Wilson both scored to give Newcastle the lead before half-time. In the second half Kieran Trippier doubled their lead with a free-kick. Two goals in quick succession by Haaland and Bernardo Silva drew the score level again. A few failed attempts later, the match finished in a 3-3 draw.
