Manchester City versus Real Madrid

We’re not going to lie. This match probably belongs to the three best games in the Champions League. Manchester City took an early lead thanks to Kevin de Bruyne. Gabriel Jesus doubled the lead in the 11th minute. It looked to be an amazing evening for Man City, but then Karim Benzema stood up. He scored the 2-1 for Real Madrid. In the second half youngsters Foden and Vinicius scored a goal each. When Bernardo Silva got the score to 4-2 in the 74th minute, it looked to be City’s evening again. A handball by Laporte, led to a penalty for Real Madrid. Karim Benzema scored from the spot to get his team back in the tie. Both teams go to Madrid next week to finish the job.

Liverpool versus Villarreal

The first half of this match was one where Liverpool tried to break down the opponents and Villarreal tried to break down play. They did everything they can to stop Liverpool. Early in the second half it all changed. Liverpool got two goals in quick succession. An own goal by Villarreal and a good goal by Sadio Mane. With these goals Villarreal had to do something to come back in the game. They tried to push forward a little bit more, but Liverpool was way too strong. Villarreal failed to create anything serious. Liverpool will feel confident about the second leg, but there will be a slight worry. A third goal in this match would have made a massive difference.
