1971 Leicester City versus Liverpool 1-0
The 1971 edition of the Charity Shield was a special one. Arsenal won the double in the 1970-71 season, but their preseason tour conflicted with this match. That’s why this edition was between the FA Cup final runners-up Liverpool and Second Division champions Leicester City. Steve Whitworth opened the score in the 15th minute. A goal that was the only goal of this match, giving Leicester City their first FA Charity Shield.
2016 Manchester United versus Leicester City 2-1
The 2015-2016 Premier League season will always be remembered because of Leicester City. The team that was supposed to fight against relegation but surprised everyone by winning the league. The Foxes entered the 2016 Community Shield match as Premier League winners but couldn’t win their second Community Shield title. Manchester United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored the winning goal in the 83rd minute. This brings Leicester City’s balance on 1-1 in Community Shield wins versus losses.
