Earlier this week we wrote an article about the return of Premier League football. Everything is scheduled to start playing football again on the 17th of June. Aston Villa will face Sheffield United and Manchester City welcomes Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium. Now the Premier League is announced, the FA also decided to announce the dates for the remaining FA Cup matches.

FA Cup return end of June

The last weekend of June (Saturday 27 June and Sunday 28 June) is scheduled for the FA Cup quarter finals. The semi-finals will take place on 18-19 July The big FA Cup Final is scheduled for Saturday the first of August. It’s very hopeful for the clubs that still are in the tournament that they will get a serious attempt to win the trophy.

FA Cup Final maybe with Fans at Wembley

The infection rate of Covid-19 is in decline all over Europe. That’s the reason football leagues are returning just like other sports. The FA and English government are currently looking for a way to get fans into Wembley stadium when the FA Cup final is played on the 1st of August. The idea is to give 10,000 tickets to each team in the final. Which will bring 20,000 fans in a stadium with a capacity of 90,000. The social distancing rules should be doable with 20,000 fans in the stadium. There are still a lot of ifs and maybes. The infection rate needs to keep on dropping.

FA Cup final tickets

There is still a lot of uncertainty around the FA Cup final, but it offers a bit of hope that they are looking to get fans back in the stadium. If it works for the final, we can start looking for a way to get people in the stadium at the start of next Premier League season. If the final will be played with fans, we will do everything we can to try and get our hands on FA Cup final tickets.
