New Tottenham Hotspur stadium finally opened

Almost eight months after the original deadline it’s finally happened. Tottenham Hotspur opened their new stadium this week with a home match against Crystal Palace. The original opening was planned for the start of this Premier League season, but several issues with the critical safety systems due to faulty electrical wiring delayed the completion of the stadium. Playing in a new stadium is important, but the safety of everyone who attends a football match is of course way more important. Now all the issues are fixed, Tottenham Hotspur opened their new stadium on the 3rd of April 2019 against Crystal Palace.

The first official match in a new stadium is always something special for a football player. Even more so when you score the first ever Premier League goal in the new stadium of your club. Son Heung-Min got the honour to do so in the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
