El Clasico La Liga 2018-2019

Real Madrid and Barcelona faced each other last night in the Copa Del Rey semi-final second leg. The first leg was played two weeks ago and finished 1-1. Barcelona were looking to reach the final for the 6th straight season, which is a great achievement for the club. The first half was tight with Madrid having the better chances, Vinicius had the best opportunity of the half but he blasted it over the bar. Ter Stegen also made a couple of good saves to keep it at 0-0. In the second half, the game was Barcelona’s, Suarez got his first goal after 50 minutes after a low ball from Dembele. 19 minutes later Barcelona got their second with Dembele putting in a low driven cross aimed at Suarez but Varane got in the way and scored an own goal. Barcelona got their final goal when Suarez was brought down by Casemiro in the penalty area. Messi allowed Suarez to take the corresponding penalty which he scored with a cheeky Panenka.

The two clubs face each other again in La Liga on the weekend at the Bernabeu. The teams are separated by 9 points so Real know that this is a must win if they want to have any chance of winning the title. Barcelona will be hoping that last night’s result will affect Madrid and they will be able to grab another victory and end their title hopes. Madrid will have to build on Wednesday's first half against Barcelona and try to grab the win. Real Madrid have not been having the best season and have struggled with their “post-Ronaldo life”. So far this season Real have only scored 43 goals in the league and which is 22 less than what Barcelona have scored. With only 13 games to go Real will probably not get close to their tally of 93 that they scored last season. It will be a tough game for them as they have struggled against big teams this season.

Predicted result Real Madrid 1-3 Barcelona
