2018-2019 Champions League kicks off

The UEFA decided to make one major change in this biggest club tournament in the world of football. They scraped the 7:45pm (BST) kick-off. From the start of this season the Champions League matches are played on two different times. The early kick-off is at 6pm (BST), while the late matches start at 8pm (BST).

English teams in Champions League

The four English teams that start this Champions League season all have a different start of this competition. Tottenham Hotspur starts today with an early kick-off in Milan against Internazionale. This match can define their Champions League season, being grouped with Barcelona and PSV too. It’s going to be very important for the Spurs to get a result from this match. Later on the evening Liverpool entertains Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield Road. This match has every potential to become one of the best match of this season’s group stage. Some of the best attackers in the world will be on the pitch in this match.

Manchester teams

Both Manchester teams play their matches on Wednesday evening this week. Manchester City starts their journey towards Champions League glory with a home match against Olympique Lyonnais. The Cityzens stranded in the quarter finals last season, so they are very motivated to do a better job this time. Their neighbours Manchester United start with an away match in Switzerland. Both Manchester teams play in the late shift tomorrow.
