Old Trafford centre of attention on transfer market

It’s only a few more days before the Premier League transfer windows shuts down. The deadline is on this Thursday at 5pm. For the first time the FA decided to close the window before the start of the league. This means we can’t have situations like the one with Oxlade-Chamberlain last season, who moved from Arsenal to Liverpool a few days after playing against his new team. As it looks now Old Trafford will be the center of attention for the next few days.

Manchester City won the league miles ahead of the rest and they added Riyad Mahrez to their squad. They’ve only really lost Yaya Toure, which means Pep would like to add a defensive midfielder to his squad. Liverpool and Arsenal both did their business early in this window and it seems like these teams are ready for the start of the season. They will be open to sell some unnecessary players and maybe buy a good player if the right opportunity is there. Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are pretty quiet on the market so far. Manchester United however is the team that’s mentioned in many transfer rumours. In this article we discuss the hottest rumours around Man United at the moment.

Man United transfer rumours

Toby Alderweireld is the first name that is linked to Manchester United for a long time now. The Belgium centre-back runs out of his contract at the end of this season and he refused to renew it. Tottenham wants to get some money for him, so they are willing to sell him before Thursday. This is a transfer that is very likely to happen this week.

Another centre-back that is linked to Man United is Jerome Boateng. The German international played with Bayern Munich against Man United in a preseason friendly on Sunday. Rumours about a move to the Mancunians really started heating up after this match. Bayern Munich is willing to let him go according to the rumours.

Paul Pogba is another player that is mentioned lately. His connection with Jose Mourinho isn’t ideal and Barcelona hopes to use this in their advantage. The Spanish giants tried to pursue Man United by offering 50 million GBP and Yerry Mina plus Andre Gomes. The Colombian defender could solve the defensive problems and Gomes can replace Pogba. Man United however isn’t keen on moving Pogba out of the club.
